Always feeling as if he had halted his existence on the right side of the world, Theodore has no memory of his life before New Year's 1971. Three years have passed since Theodore's odd arrival at St George's Institution for boys in Leeds. One afternoon, a letter arrives, only it is blank with nothing but his name on it.
